Allegheny County Pharmacists Association

Vision

Pharmacists in southwestern Pennsylvania will be connected and engaged health care providers within our local area.

Mission

The Allegheny County Pharmacists Association promotes the pharmacy profession through advocacy, education, and collaboration.  Together we create a voice for the pharmacy profession, strengthen relationships among our profession, and further patient care in our community.

Who we are

We are pharmacists, students, residents, technicians, and friends from various practice settings in the southwestern Pennsylvania area.

The Allegheny County Pharmacists Association (ACPA) was originally founded in 1937 as the Allegheny County

Retail Druggist’s Association. Dinner programs are held every couple months, are open to all members, and usually feature an informative presentation or CE. Of particular note is the Annual President’s Dinner held in June of each year – it is during this event that a new Board of Directors is installed and the annual yearbook is unveiled. ACPA also offers annual scholarships to one student from each area School of Pharmacy – University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University.

ACPA was the first county or regional association to officially affiliate with PPA!

Senator Wayne Fontana joins ACPA for their annual professional meeting at Duquesne University. The Senator spoke to students about issues facing the pharmacy and healthcare industry and took questions.

Join PPA

Membership in the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association supports the preservation and advancement of the pharmacy profession in the Commonwealth. Since 1878, we have been working to advance both the profession and patient care.
